Step 1. Pay HRA Assessment
The minimum assessment is $400. The actual assessment is $500.
Please note, the minimum assessment provides the least financial coverage of operating expenses. The actual assessment provides coverage of the operating expenses plus a small amount for unexpected costs and to maintain the cash reserve.
Families are required to pay the minimum assessment of $400. Families are encouraged, but not required, to pay the actual assessment ($500.)
For families paying the actual assessment this season, the difference between the amounts will be considered a tax-deductible donation to HRA.
A limited number of scholarships are available. Please download the Scholarship Application
We collect up-to-date information for all rowers and at least one parent/guardian each season to facilitate team communications (practice times, regatta information, clothing orders, establishing carpools, emergency contact, etc.). *Be sure to read both the HRA Code of Conduct Policy and the HRA Dues and Points Commitment Policy*. Submitting this form indicates that both the rower and the rower's parents agree to the terms of both policies.
*The Dues and Points Commitment Policy will be updated for spring 2021. For Fall 2020, point obligations are waived.
Step 3. Complete the Pay to Participate (P2P) with Ann Arbor Rec & Ed
You are only required to pay the $15 Club Sport Fee for Fall 2020.
Paying $15 Club Sport Fee:
Follow instructions at https://www.a2schools.org/PTP.
Once you receive your confirmation email from Rec & Ed, either pdf it or take a picture of a print out of it.
Upload your P2P confirmation/receipt into PlanetHS.
Step 4. Update PlanetHS
Please visit the Huron Athletic Department page at https://www.a2schools.org/Page/12921 to update Planet HS with confirmation of payment.
Everyone must check “Rowing-Fall” in the Interested Sports section in PlanetHS.
Once all documents are uploaded and everything signed, you will receive notification of “Approved” from the school. If you haven't received "Approved," notification, please review your PlanetHS account to determine what needs to be completed.
Step 5. US Rowing
US Rowing Waiver: Check the expiration date of your US Rowing membership at US Rowing Site. You need a valid membership through 11/1/2020. The HRA Club Access Code is SD7DK. Our insurance is provided by US Rowing and each rower must complete an online waiver prior to rowing. You only need the Basic Membership. Waivers must be completed by a parent if the rower is under 18 years of age. Rowers over 18 may complete their own. Questions? Try this tutorial.
Step 6. Swim Test Certification
Swim Test Certification: Download the form at Swim Test Certification Form. This form is required for first time rowers only. The rower will be required to wear a personal flotation device on the water or they may not be able to go on the water (at the coaches’ discretion) until the certification is satisfied. The test is to be administered and signed by a certified WSI (water safety instructor) at any pool. Some suggested locations are listed on the form. A coach may also sign if the rower has been on the swim team. The form is valid for all seasons that a rower is with Huron crew.
*Since many pools are closed, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss options for this step.
